Mallorca swimming camp 2022

August 2022 saw a group of 16 swimmers from Nenagh Neptune Swimming club together with their parents and Coaches Uta Fietsch and Christine Ryan travel to the Best Centre Mallorca and Blue Water Hotel to attend a Summer Training Camp. Swimmers endured eight gruelling two hours training sessions at the Best Sports Centre in searing temperatures over the six days. The trip provided a wonderful opportunity for these young swimmers to train at the Best Sports Centre which prides itself as being one of Europe’s leading sports centres with an outstanding outdoor Olympic size pool and adjoining fitness centre with many famous international swimmers having used the facilities. All Swimmers did themselves, their coaches and parents immensely proud at each and every training session by completing the arduous training sessions and displaying exemplary behaviour throughout their stay.
In between training sessions swimmers, parents and coaches completed many fun activities including fun in the hotel pool, cliff jumping, snorkelling, sea swimming, pool tournaments, card playing, important birthdays celebrated, copious amounts of ice-creams consumed and a talent contest where the younger girls stole the show with their synchronised swimming performance. The entire week provided a wonderful opportunity for the swimmers, their families and coaches to get to know each other better resulting in friendships being formed and memories made which will last a lifetime.
We would like to thank Uta for coordinating the trip and making what initially sounded like a dream become a worthwhile and enjoyable reality for all.
